Primary Lead Teacher

Start Date: Immediate

Arbor Montessori School is accepting applications from experienced candidates for a Primary Lead Teacher. The school is in its 52nd year and located just outside the city of Atlanta. We serve students from toddler through adolescence, with four primary classrooms. Our average faculty tenure is 13 years.

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • AMI Primary Diploma
  • BA or BS degree

Full-Time Permanent Substitute Teacher

Start Date: Immediate

Arbor is accepting applications for a full-time permanent substitute teacher. This position will work at either our Scott or Lavista Campus locations, dependent on need. Arbor follows the traditional school year schedule beginning in August and ending the first week in June. Classrooms are open Monday through Friday. Hours for the position may vary, but will generally be 8am to 4pm. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Arbor’s Montessori classrooms, which serve children from 18 months to 8th grade. 
  • Ensuring children’s safety in the classroom and on the playground.
  • Helping daily to maintain a clean and attractive environment, including resetting the classroom for the next day.
  • Offering polite and appropriate interactions with parents during drop-off and dismissal.
  • Participating in teacher workdays and school-wide workshops.
  • And any other duties as requested by the Head of School or Level Coordinator.

Starting pay is competitive and varies based on experience.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be able to pass a Georgia State background check. Experience working with children and Montessori classroom experience is preferred, but not required. While a college degree is preferred, it is not required, and current college students are welcome to apply.

Enrichment Program Administrator

Arbor is seeking applications for an Enrichment Program Administrator. The Administrator plans and implements Arbor’s Enrichment Programs, including early morning and after-school care, holiday camps, drop-in care, and after-school programs offered to students 5 to 14 years old. The Administrator is responsible for ensuring that all of the Bright From the Start requirements are met for the school’s toddler and primary classrooms.  The Administrator is also our liaison for the School’s Health and Safety Committee and helps to ensure the safety of the School.

This position begins immediately with hours from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Candidate qualifications include:

  • BA or BS degree in early education or another field.
  • A strong understanding of Montessori principles is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience working with children is required; experience with children 5 to 14 years of age is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in hiring, training, and supervising adults is required.
  • Ideal candidates also possess strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills; an understanding of budget management is encouraged.

This is an 11-month position that includes a competitive salary and benefits.

Part-Time Enrichment Lead Teacher

Arbor is accepting applications for a part-time Enrichment lead teacher. This position is based at our LaVista Campus. Arbor follows the traditional school-year schedule, beginning in mid-August and ending the first week of June. Enrichment includes our pre- and after-school care programs and Holiday Camps.

This position primarily works with the after-school program. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 2:30pm to 6:15pm. This position also works with occasional Holiday Camps. The hours during Holiday Camp days may differ from the typical daily schedule.

Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with children ages 5-14 in a variety of after-school activities, including do-it-yourself crafts, indoor games, outdoor games, building toys, etc.
  • Supervising children to ensure safety in the Enrichment classrooms and outdoor spaces (e.g., playground, blacktop).
  • Assisting in the supervision of Enrichment assistant teachers during after-school and Holiday Camp programs.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate records of children (e.g., sign-in & sign-out sheets, basic medical information).
  • Maintaining a clean and attractive environment, including organizing and monitoring supplies, regularly disinfecting surfaces, and restocking bathrooms as needed, etc.
  • Planning activities for Holiday Camp days.
